We raised $350,000 to help us launch Chipp.AI.

Chipp is the easiest payment platform for generative AI developers. As our early demo to Chipp shows, AI developers need payment options explicitly built for AI tools.

The most exciting part of building Chipp is it will make it easier for AI developers to get started and monetize their creations. We believe a simple payment solution will bring more great ideas to life.

A Community of Support

‍

As a Fargo, ND-based company, we are thrilled to have strong support from our community: 95% of the investments came from North and South Dakota! We are incredibly thankful to those early investors who jumped in with conviction, making it easier to invite others to join.

‍

The support from the North Dakota Department of Commerce was instrumental. Our initial goal was to match early angel funds with the Angel Match Program. Thanks to the overwhelming support, we can delay a request for a match. However, having that initial goal and support from the state was the target we needed to grow quickly.

‍

We received invaluable advice from local accelerators, investors, and entrepreneurial support organizations like Gener8tor, the ND Growth Fund, Homegrown Capital, Generational Partners, and the ND SBDC. The chance to share our vision at Emerging Prairie’s StartupBREW with the Fargo entrepreneurial was a significant accelerant as we launched.

Lesson Learned: The Community Foundation

‍

Chipp.AI aims to be the easiest (and most popular) payment platform for generative AI developers. While ND may not be the largest hub of these developers, this seven-week experience of going from idea to closing a pre-seed round taught us an important lesson: build with the community.

‍

Our entrepreneurial community in ND is ready to help with mentorship and funding. The exciting next step for Chipp is to parlay this local support into national and international growth. Our recent acceptance into Founder’s University and Buildspace are early successes of this strategy.

‍

The potential for other Midwest founders to follow the blueprint of raising funding locally and building globally is an exciting opportunity.
